1984. Miquel Brown: He’s a Saint, He’s a Sinner
We obviously lived in more innocent times in those days. According to the You Tube blurb accompanying this video, the switchboards were jammed with complaints following the airing of this clip in 1984.
The sexy dancers were brought in to cover the fact that Miquel Brown couldn’t jive around as usual as she’d just come out of hospital. This record was a bigger hit than her previous, ‘So Many Men’. We shall never know whether this was down to the ‘controversial’ clip (but, personally, I always preferred ‘So Many Men’).
Miquel became one of the top divas of the successful hinrg disco scene. She scored massive club success around the globe between 1983 &1989. I had the pleasure of seeing her perform in the mid 80s,in Manchester.
