I thought I’d start this blog by letting the masters of high-camp and gay innuendo sing us out of the 70s.

Ready for the 80s? Of course we weren’t – although it’s interesting to speculate whether we would have been if we’d known what was coming.

My guess is that we would have still responded the same way that we did in the 80s – fear and panic initially, then a lot of emotion (grief and anger, mostly) and, finally, strength and defiance.

It was a bumpy ride, but I think the 80s was the decade where we finally decided that we were sick and tired of people kicking us.
